Are you tired of printing a spreadsheet and spending the weekend looking for slabs so you can get an accurate inventory count?

The Scan extention stops the pain.

There are two distinct features to the Scan module, the first is the “Sync Wizard™” which is used for inventory reconciliation.  The second is the “Slab Browser” which runs on a tablet and is used by your sales team to reduce the time and increase the satisfaction of the customer during the slab selection process.

The Sync Wizard™ – To begin, each of your slab locations are barcoded, as are your slabs.  At that ponit, correcting any errors in your Slabsmith inventory is just a two step process.  1) Scan the locations and the slabs in each location.  2) Place the scanner into it’s base station and start the Sync Wizard™.

In a matter of minutes the Sync Wizard™ leads you through 4 simple steps, and your digital inventory is correct to that moment in time.

The Sync Wizard™ works by comparing the data on the barcode scanner to the data in the Slabsmith inventory and shows a summary of the differences.   Then with a few clicks of your mouse, updates the location for slabs that have been moved, it flags slabs that are gone but still showing as in stock, and it lets you know if a slab was “Consumed” by  mistake and you actually still have it!

The Slab Browser – The Slab Browser runs on a tablet and allows you show your customers all slabs in the rack with a quick scan of the rack’s barcode.  At that point you can use the touch interface to browse the slabs, and even select individual slabs in the rack to save to a favorites list.

After build a favorites list, you can select just the slabs the customers want and right from the tablet place the slabs on hold or into job for that customer.  All while walking around the slab yard or warehouse*.

*Note – Slab Browser requires a Wifi connection to your network

Locator provides a new level of slab alignment accuracy.  If you are using expensive material with lot’s of movement and you need exacting results, Locator provides it.

Locator uses proprietary location targets placed on the slab during the Digital Slab™ creation process.  The positions of the targets are recorded and saved with the Digital Slab™

A camera is placed over the saw table and the same calibration proceedure that is used on the photostation, calibrates your saw table.

Later at the saw the process begins just like “Slab Consumer”, the job barcode is scanned from the Saw/Pick ticket and the slabs in the job are loaded into the interface.

The slab is placed on the saw, and the slab’s barcode is scanned.  This triggers the camera to take a picture of the slab on the sawe.  The calibration is applied to the picture and the layout for the slab is loaded from the database.

The targets positions contained in the layout are automatically aligned with the targets on the actual slab on the saw table.

The now positioned layout is saved as a DXF, loaded into the saw programming software, and the slab is cut more accurately than previously thought possible.

Slab Maker™ Lite was designed for businesses that want to create inventory records for slabs that have been ordered, before they have arrived.

Slab Maker™ Lite duplicates the functionality of Slab Maker, without the ability to add a picture to the inventory record.

A common method is to create “Blank slabs” which contain all the slab properties, but lack the digital image.  The status of these blank slabs are set to “Ordered” and the barcode labels can be printed at the time of creation.

When the actual slabs arrive at the facility, the digitial image may be added to the record, the labels applied and the status changed to “Received”.
